CNC/Tool and Die Technologies
Moraine Park Technical College
The CNC/Tool and Die Technologies program prepares students to build and run mold dies and stamping dies; and perform advanced milling, drilling and lathe work. Students also practice precision surface grinding, precision measurement, and heat treating.
Courses in the CNC/Tool and Die Technologies program focus on programming and operation of CNC machine tools, including; coordinate measuring machines (CMM), vertical and horizontal machining centers, turning centers, electrical discharge machines (EDM), tooling and work holding, as well as, three-dimensional computer-aided machining.
Upon completion of the program, students will have completed all of their related training for the State of Wisconsin Tool and Die Technologies apprenticeship program.
Skilled machinists and tool and die makers are in great demand across the manufacturing industry. Workers in this field have the opportunity to quickly advance their careers as they gain experience and skill.

A program that requires its students to demonstrate they have successfully acquired a set of skills or knowledge base prior to completing the program. Compare to a "time-based" training program that results in successful completion if the students participate in a certain number of instructional hours.

Program applications are accepted until a week prior to the start of each semester. There are some exceptions for programs or certificates that begin mid-semester.
Some high-demand/limited-enrollment programs reach capacity based on the number of students who complete admission. Applicants are accepted into limited-enrollment programs on a first-come, first-served basis and are admitted from program waitlists as space becomes available.

Courses from Moraine Park's Introduction to CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) Operations Certificate can be directly transferred into Moraine Park's CNC/Tool and Die Technologies technical diploma program.
Advisory board committee members from area businesses provide guidance and direction on curriculum and program outcomes.
Moraine Park offers Employment Services and Career Services to students.
Tutoring is available online and face to face for our students.

Additional Program Costs
Students must purchase a tool kit for approx. $4,146 for this program.
Required books and supplies are an additional $1,506. New, used, and rental books may be an option.
